We can't wait to get started on this!
Following on from the exhilaration of our 2-day Come & Sing Belshazzar's Feast in January 2026, for our 150th Anniversary, we are going one better with a 3-day Come and Sing and Play Verdi's Requiem from Friday 5th February - Sunday 7th February 2027.
The event, supported by the William Grant Foundation, will give both singers and instrumentalists the opportunity to explore this epic work filled with monumental tunes before giving a performance, with soloists, on the Sunday afternoon.
The cost of the weekend, which starts at 7pm on Friday evening, is £40 and includes coaching from professional musicians and music hire along with tea, coffee and Ayr Choral's famous home-baking!
We'll start with sectional rehearsals on Friday, split across our two venues in Ayr Town Centre, which will finish at 9.30pm. On Saturday we'll be back to it at 10am and will rehearse until 1pm when there will be an hour's break for lunch. Please bring a packed lunch or enjoy a visit to one of Ayr's cafes. Saturday afternoon will see us rehearsing again from 2pm - 5pm.
Sunday morning is at leisure (bracing walk along the seafront highly recommended!) before a full rehearsal with soloists from 2pm and our performance at 4pm.
We'd love to see as many people as possible joining in - everyone is welcome - so please sign up using the relevant form below.
